Boulder Chamber Supports Middle-Income Housing Program
The City of Boulder is considering a downpayment assistance program for middle-income families who are looking to buy a home in Boulder. The Boulder Chamber strongly supports efforts to increase middle-income housing. The middle-income housing inventory has declined significantly in the past decade, and housing costs have increased faster than incomes are rising. This puts additional pressures on our community members who are interested in buying a home. As City Council considers this program, the Boulder Chamber provided a letter (below) advocating for it to consider how market forces would impact the program, and how deed restriction influences the broader housing market as well.
