Boulder Chamber Thanks Ken Hotard for Service to Community Affairs Council; Welcomes Danica Powell as New Co-Chair

Ken Hotard of the Boulder Area Realtors Association recently concluded his term as co-chair of the Boulder Chamber’s Community Affairs Council. Ken has provided the CAC with important leadership on governance as well as community dynamics. In recent remarks, Boulder Chamber President and CEO John Tayer noted how Ken helped to transform the CAC and the Boulder Chamber into a strong voice for business interests. Ken truly cares about the success of our local business and economy, while helping to shape a stronger community. We are especially grateful for his contributions.
With Ken’s transition, we are pleased to announce that Danica Powell has agreed to serve as incoming CAC co-chair. Danica is the founder and owner of Trestle Strategy Group, a Boulder community building consulting firm that specializes in real estate strategy and entitlements, community engagement, owner’s representation, project management, needs assessment and facilities planning. In addition to her leadership at Trestle, Danica has provided important community leadership through board service at the I Have a Dream Foundation of Boulder County, Flatirons Habitat for Humanity and the Downtown Boulder Foundation. She also served a 3-year term with the City of Boulder Planning Board. We know she will provide strong leadership with the CAC as we move forward.
Bob Morehouse, founder of Vermilion Design + Digital, will continue to serve as co-chair for another year. We particularly appreciate Bob’s wealth of expertise in marketing and communication, given the context of Boulder’s political dynamics.
The Boulder Chamber’s Community Affairs Council is a policy advisory committee tasked to:
  • Identify and address community issues of concern to Boulder Chamber members and Boulder businesses
  • Provide input and perspective on behalf of Boulder Chamber members and the general business community on public policy issues
  • Recommend policy direction and positions to the Board of Directors

The strong leadership we’ve enjoyed on the CAC, as well as the diversity of perspectives and talent we have around the CAC table, helps to deliver much valued policy guidance for the Boulder Chamber Board. We thank all of our CAC members for their service!
