Boulder 'still open for business' After U.S. 36 Lanes Collapse

Summer is one of the busiest seasons for tourism in Boulder. With the partial collapse of lanes on eastbound U.S. 36, businesses are concerned this could keep commuting employees and visitors away. The Boulder Chamber is responding.
First, we’ve partnered with our colleagues at Downtown Boulder Partnership and the Convention and Visitors Bureau on a task force to monitor the U.S. 36 repairs and RTD service response. We also had a meeting with CDOT and RTD representative through our work with the Northwest Chamber Alliance to get a firsthand accounting of the situation and repair schedule.

Boulder Chamber President & CEO John Tayer speaks with Channel 7 News

We also want to make sure we’re helping to address concerns of our local businesses. "We want our visitors and commuters to know that Boulder is absolutely open for business," said John Tayer, President and CEO of the Boulder Chamber. Tayer participated in Channel 7’s coverage of the U.S. 36 damage.
Stay Informed! CDOT and RTD will continue to keep the public and our workforce commuters updated on social media channels. For the latest information about the US36 repair work, please follow CDOT at @ColoradoDOT on Facebook and Twitter, and RTD on Twitter @RideRTD.
