Boulder Chamber Urges Congress to Protect Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)

The Boulder Chamber joined with a coalition of business interests in signing a letter on behalf of the Coalition for the American Dream with hundreds of business leaders from across the nation urging Congress to pass bipartisan support protecting DACA recipients who risk losing the right to live and work in the United States. With an extreme workforce shortage in our community, Boulder businesses strongly support policies that help recruit and retain employees. The Boulder Chamber Policy Framework recognizes that many businesses are established and run by immigrants, and we support the efforts to keep build back our workforce through advocacy for comprehensive immigration reform.
“Since 2012, the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy has provided work authorization and protections from deportation for young immigrants who came to this country as children. They grew up here, were educated here, and have built the entirety of their lives here. Many of them have built successful careers as teachers, small business owners, health care workers, and entrepreneurs across a host of industries. They are our friends, our neighbors, and our coworkers.”
