City Council and Mayoral Candidates Convene at Issue-Focused Boulder Chamber Candidate Forum

Boulder, Colorado – August 30, 2023 – All registered candidates for the upcoming Municipal Election gathered on Tuesday evening at the Boulder JCC for the Boulder Chamber Candidate Forum at which they spoke on hot-button, community issues prior to the November 7 Municipal Election.

The City Council and Mayoral elections carry weight in Boulder; with four Council seats in contention, each candidate addressed the audience and discussed positions and issues critical to their platform and election bid. The four candidates in the first-ever, head-to-head, ranked-choice Mayoral race were also afforded the opportunity to speak openly and discuss key components of their campaign. Each candidate was allowed a few minutes to speak, creating a discourse surrounding Boulder community-focused topics that will influence decision-making at the polls in November.

The Boulder Chamber Candidate Forum is a critical effort by the Policy Programs team to bring attention to the issues most critical to Boulder’s economy, our member businesses and organizations, and promote informed voter decision-making in each election. From local elections to state-wide ballot initiatives, the Boulder Chamber approaches public debate over policy issues in an intentionally constructive fashion to arrive at solutions that advance Boulder’s long-term interests.

With the November election just around the corner, resources are available to voters in Boulder County regarding ranked-choice voting, voter registration, poll locations, and ballot drop-off. For a comprehensive list of voter resources, please visit the Boulder Chamber Election Resources page or the Boulder County Elections website.

The Boulder Chamber Candidate Forum was presented by Elevations Credit Union in partnership with Community Cycles, Community Foundation Boulder County, Downtown Boulder Partnership, Human Services Alliance of Boulder County, the Latino Chamber of Commerce, and Boulder – Longmont Association of Realtors.
