The Boulder Chamber Honors Local Women Who Are Changing the World

On September 10, at the 29th Annual Women Who Light The Community Awards Ceremony, the Boulder Chamber proudly honored six outstanding women who are tackling challenges in the Boulder region and beyond. These honorees join an impressive group of community leaders who have made a positive impact on our economy, community, and the lives of countless individuals.  

“It’s a point of pride for the Boulder Chamber to share the characteristics of business savvy, innovation, and determination that these Women Who Light The Community honorees embody,” said Boulder Chamber President and CEO John Tayer. “Their character of leadership should serve as a guiding light for all of us to follow.”   

Crowning over two decades of awards to outstanding women from across Boulder County, the Boulder Chamber honors recipients who inspire, connect, and build community through their spirit of hard work and dedication to others. Throughout the evening’s celebration, attendees and guests listened to inspirational stories shared by each honoree and presenter, applauding their achievements and their passion for shaping the community through action, compassion, and innovation.  

The 2024 honorees are:  

  • Tyler Jacobs, Emerging Youth Award 
  • Jena Griswold, Colorado Secretary of State 
  • Sandra Weeks, Blue Spruce Construction Services 
  • Ava Hamilton, Arapaho Nation Independent Motion Pictures and Film Professional 
  • Adderly Grant-Lord, NAACP Boulder County and AdderlyArt 
  • Sarah Meshak, Boulder Medical Center 

Chosen from over 70 individual nominations by peers, mentors, and friends, these six selected women embody the spirit of the Boulder Chamber’s commitment to business success and community vitality. The Boulder Chamber and Boulder Chamber Business Women’s Leadership Group were honored to recognize those who make significant contributions through innovation and committed efforts to address meaningful business, nonprofit, arts, or community needs on local, regional, national, or global scales.  

In addition to this prestigious award, Tyler Jacobs, the Emerging Youth Honoree, was presented with a $1,500 scholarship from Alpine Bank. The Emerging Youth Award recognizes a rising leader among our young adults who has made significant contributions or committed efforts toward addressing a meaningful business, organization, or community need.  

The 2024 Women Who Light The Community Awards Ceremony was presented by Corden Pharma.
