Meet Amanda!
Originally from Connecticut, Amanda moved to Boulder in May 2021, a year after graduating from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies and Public Communications. She had dreamed of traveling through Europe, but when COVID-19 put those plans on hold, she found another way to explore—renting a campervan with her best friend for a road trip through Colorado and Utah’s National Parks.
One evening, they stopped for dinner in Boulder, and something just clicked. Even after only a few hours in town, she knew this was where she wanted to be. As soon as she got home, Amanda did her research, signed a lease, and made the move. During her drive from Connecticut to Colorado, she interviewed for a position at the Boulder Chamber—then, just 30 minutes after arriving at her new home, she got the call with a job offer.
Following her time at the Boulder Chamber, Amanda joined the Bolder Young Professionals Advisory Committee, staying engaged in the community she had quickly grown to love. Passionate about corporate social responsibility, she now works with the Pet Sustainability Coalition, a Boulder-based nonprofit that helps businesses integrate sustainability and social responsibility into their operations. PSC believes business success isn’t just about profit—it’s about making a positive impact.
When she’s not at PSC, Amanda shares her love of ceramics by teaching at Groundworks Arts Lab, a Boulder Chamber member nonprofit. Whether through her work, community involvement, or creative passions, she’s always looking for ways to make a difference in the place she now calls home.
What is your favorite thing about Boulder (or Colorado)?
The values of Boulder and the people who live here align deeply with mine--commitments to sustainability, health + wellness, and community.
How long have you been a Boulder Chamber Ambassador?
I worked at the Boulder Chamber in a full-time role from May 2021 to May 2024. I became an ambassador shortly after.
What is your favorite thing about being an Ambassador?
I love being an ambassador because it connects me to my community. Being an ambassador allows me to meet so many new people and explore so many new spots in town. I have formed deep relationships with the Boulder Chamber staff and ambassador teams- they're family!
What other ways are you involved with the Boulder Chamber?
I participated in the 2022-2023 Leadership Fellows Program. I serve on the BYP Advisory Committee and attend as many events as I can! I'm not much of a morning person, so you are unlikely to see me at many early-morning events...except for Bike to Work Day...that’s a favorite!
What is your favorite Boulder Chamber event, and why?
My favorite Boulder Chamber event is a three-way tie between the star lighting, Celebration of Leadership, and the BYP Halloween Happy Hour.
What's your favorite hobby?
Pottery! I also love to sauna/cold plunge!
What's your favorite snack?
Pretzels and my famous tahini chocolate chip cookies.
