Congressman Joe Neguse seeks stories from federal workers impacted by recent policies

Dear Neighbor, I know the past few weeks have been filled with chaos and confusion for so many in our communities, and that the series of executive actions and directives coming out of the White House have sparked very real fears and anxieties among folks in the 2nd District—and certainly throughout our nation. Please know that my top priority is to protect Colorado and advocate tirelessly for the people of our great state. Using every legislative and oversight tool available, we will continue to defend Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security, affordable health care and critical food assistance programs — and do everything we can to reverse the dismantling of federal agencies. With that in mind, last week I was grateful to have hundreds of constituents make their voices heard at two of our town-halls— in Nederland, and our Boulder telephone town-hall. As we navigate these challenging times together, your thoughtful questions, suggestions, and concerns are critical to how our office responds to the myriad of actions the Trump administration is taking. In the past two weeks alone, we’ve hosted six town-halls across cities in the District with thousands of attendees to ensure no voice is left unheard. We intend to be in every corner of our district and reach as many folks as we can from every zip code. More town-halls are on the way in the coming months, so please be on the lookout on social media and through our newsletter for upcoming events! Along with our town-halls, I believe working with our local leaders is crucial to addressing the needs of our communities. As you may know, the Trump Administration’s attempt to freeze federal funding would devastate our state, including our counties, cities, and towns. That’s why last Tuesday I joined Larimer County’s local leadership for a roundtable to discuss and strategize how we can respond at the local, state and federal levels. I also appreciated the opportunity to visit the Central City Fire Station and discuss its resource needs with the local Fire Chief. |
