Business Community Weighs in on Xcel Energy’s Planned Response to April Windstorm

On April 6, in anticipation of windstorms with gusts over 55 mph, Xcel Energy executed a plan to primitively cut power to areas of Boulder County. Businesses within the area experienced and continue to experience a number of challenges.
Public Forum
In response to this weekend's windstorm and power outages, the Boulder Chamber and Downtown Boulder Partnership hosted a community business forum with Xcel Energy Leadership, Robert Kenney, President, and Hollie Valesquez-Horvath, Regional Vice President, State Affairs & Community Relations.
Mr. Kenney and Ms. Velasquez-Horvath provided an update on Xcel’s response to the windstorm and addressed business community feedback with an eye toward addressing business concerns, lessons learned, and future response improvements.
