Boulder Star

Over 70 Years of Tradition

2025 marks the 78th anniversary of the Boulder Star on Flagstaff Mountain. The beloved Boulder Star was first lit in December 1947 and has made its holiday appearance every year since.

The Boulder Chamber and the City of Boulder are the proud joint stewards of this community asset and are thankful for the support it receives through sales of the Boulder Star Card, Star Wine, and the generosity of other partners to keep the Boulder Star shining bright.

The 2025 Star Card design was created by local artist Danielle Schroeder Kraft. Danielle is a Colorado-based artist known for her warm and textured illustrations celebrating the outdoors, adventure, and food. Her art has been featured in an award-winning column for Edible Magazine, exhibited at the Colorado Chautauqua, and her commissioned pieces live in many private collections. Whether painting delicate botanicals or illustrating a favorite recipe, she colorfully captures the whimsy in the everyday.

A portion of the Star Card proceeds go towards the ongoing care of the Boulder Star.
